Hello Elizabeth. I find your stories very exciting - the plots are full of twists and turns! Do you work them out as you go along? Do you know how the story is going to end before you start writing?

Yes, I am writing another book at the moment. It is an historical adventure, like Where Hedgehogs Dare, so the characters are all new. But the next book after that will be a present-day adventure featuring Snipper and Despina and quite a few other characters whom you'll have met in Let Sleeping Hedgehogs Spy, including Snipper's friends Scratch and Thistley, secret agent Pierce, and boss Major Dirkby.
Thank you for your reply. Are you writing another book now? Which of the characters from your previous books will reappear?
Hello Perkynson. It's great to know you've been enjoying the twists and turns in my stories!
Before I start writing, I always have a rough idea of the plot from beginning to end, but the details are filled in as I write. So, for example, in 'Where Hedgehogs Dare' I knew that Snippette would go behind enemy lines and why, and how it would all end; but I didn't know the part her brother Spike would play.
Occasionally, when I'm crafting the plot for one story, I'm also thinking ahead to the next story. So, knowing that Snipper's second adventure would be set in space, I let it be known in 'Let Sleeping Hedgehogs Spy' that his friend Pawline was a trainee astronaut. Not surprisingly, she goes on to play a much bigger role in 'Hedgehogs from Outer Space'.
